About The Event

On 5 March 2022, X Museum presented two of Brazil’s excellent contemporary films, Central do Brasil and Meu Nome é Bagdá. Central do Brasil (Central Station) won the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival in 1998. As a classic in Brazilian cinema history, Central do Brasil traces the relationship between a lonely old woman and an orphan, who are both family and friend to each other. Meu Nome é Bagdá (My Name Is Baghdad), which won Grand Prix of the Generation 14plus International Jury at the Berlin Film Festival in 2020, is a film that investigates the discrimination and violence that exists in Brazilian society by focusing on the lives and fate of young Brazilians today. This screening, provided by the Embassy of Brazil in China, shared with the Chinese audience a Brazilian cultural feast during the exhibition Antonio Obá: Fables.
